I haven't been on this thing in forever. I'm actually seriously considering deleting it. I have no idea. But here's an update for now. My latest photoshoot featuring Joy. I call it Luxurious Murderer. Hopefully Sekunae is my next model but we still have to schedule a date and time. I'm working at a baby clothing boutique for the holidays. It isn't much fun and i'm not getting as many hours as i'd like. But that's fine. I'm also going to one of the Q101 Twisted shows. Friday, December 15th, My Chemical Romance, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Rise Against are coming to Chicago. mm...that's about it. ^__^ On to the pictures then. Wednesday. August 9th, 2006. Just getting that out there because that is the day all the excitement happened. And I have a nasty habit of recording the events of my life days after they actually took place. And that sometimes becomes confusing. XDDD;;; Joy and Julia, the lead guitarist and bassist of my secret band (though the band is not completely secret because I have smuggled some music files to a few close friends of mine but you get the idea), came over to the house in Deerfield to watch V for Vendetta. I had been in Korea for over a month and Julia had just returned from a trip of her own. We thought it would be a good idea to have a little reunion. And so we did. We bought snacks and energy drinks at the nearby Jewel and enjoyed a very well-made movie. Afterwards, I watched the girls kick into hyper-mode as the energy drinks finally took effect. Caffeine, sugar, and various vitamins don't have any effect on me I learned. I was as mellow as ever. Maybe a little on edge, but still pretty much myself. So I tried to keep up with Joy and Julia as best I could until they started to wind down some. Flipping through the channels on the tv brought us to the movie White Chicks and we watched that while I proceeded to finally do Joy's makeup. We had talked about it for months but never had the time to actually sit down and do it. Well today was our chance. I have to say, i'm really impressed with how Joy came out. She already has a beautiful face but the makeup accentuated a different beauty in her and I was so happy to take pictures. On a more arrogant note, I think we are going to be the best looking J-Rock inspired visual kei band in Illinois. So...haha, what can I say. I am in a pretty good mood tonight. Oh yeah, and hopefully our music is decent. XDDD!!! Unfortunately, I could only get a few pictures of Joy with my cell phone and then she had to leave. la dee da dahhh... Don't know if I ever posted these, so i'm doing that now. Fanart I did of my band. Which I am terribly sorry I haven't uploaded any music for. The official recordings haven't even been done due to schedule conflicts and the stupid drummer who I am seriously thinking of disowning regardless that he is good friends with the guitarist. arrrrhhh. From now on, I am not going to announce anything about the band until it is actually done. I hate disappointing other people and disappointing myself all the time. -___-;;; Though I really do blame this one on the drummer, it's all HIS fault. For SEVERAL reasons. hmph! *crosses arms* So that's that. hehe. We do have 2 full songs though so we're not going to give up. No way. Random update from Korea. Seku, I was at the Coex mall today and I saw a girl who looked just like you. I kept running into her in various stores and I couldn't help staring. Also. I bought a 4-disc special edition box set for the movie The King's Man/The Royal Jester, whatever you want to call it. Complete with English subtitles. So guess what. Another post of dorky pictures. I swear, if I keep smiling, my face will freeze and be smiling forever. THAT would be truly disturbing. I don't know what it is, these girls are just so much fun to be around. The pictures were taken during dinner at Potbelly's. We had been practising all day and finally had to take a break. I was going to post some of the recordings we made...but wow, the sound quality is awful. You can hardly hear my voice over the bass and guitar and I was standing right in front of the stupid mic. Luckily, during dinner, we met with a friend of Joy's who is starting his own recording studio pretty soon. He is only going to charge us $20 per hour. I think that's a pretty sweet deal. XDDD!!! On Friday, Joy (guitar/leader-sama) and Julia (bass) spent the night at my house. I have to say...I have NEVER. Laughed and smiled so much in my life. Ridiculous. I have never been so dorky before. I was dancing and snorting out loud and acting like a gangsta with these girls. They just bring the dorkiness out of me. What I love about them is that even with all this, we are able to have very serious moments. Music is always our first priority. This morning we went over several song ideas and discussed influences and other things. We're going to have an 8 hour practise tomorrow. I hope to get a few rough recordings of our practise and post them here... For now, here are some crazy pictures to document my dorkiness of last night. Be very afraid. I haven't been updating on this journal very much. I especially haven't mentioned anything about the band. Well, here's a very quick review of what's happened to me musically. I left the J-Rock cover band (which I heard had completely disbanded not long after I left) and was quickly recruited to join a new original J-Rock influenced band. I instantly clicked with this new band and we have been working very hard since the beginning of last month. First single "Glass Eye" will be available for your listening pleasure June 15th. "Glass Eye" is technically a finished product. We just need to practise till it's perfect and then finally record.   I'm posting these pictures because they reminded me of Hiroto from Alicenine. Yeah. The dude with the rabbit teeth. XDDD!!! I was at Sephora with my friends and the store had all these lip gloss samples. I tried one and it made my lips extremely pouty. Didn't really think makeup could do that. I saw one of my favorite movies on television again. The King of Masks. That, along with all the information on The Royal Jester pouring out of the media these days, has only fueled my current obsession with Asian theater and theater makeup. Both movies have scenes featuring Chinese opera. Put me in a very Asian mood. And so I played with my makeup and tried...     I took special note not to connect the eyeliner at the inside end of each eye. Also, the eyeshadow does touch all the way up to the eyebrows, the color fades on the way up. Man, I wish there was a course on Chinese opera at school. I would so take that. Oh and here are Seku and I at Mitsuwa. XDDD!!!  lol, that's all for now. Yes, yes, I know this isn't a fanart post but it is a very important post. At least for me and hopefully a few others. Seku, Eddie, Tori, Hisaki, Ko, Lydia (I will probably have to talk to her in person), and possibly...Biscuit-chan? ^.^ Seku and I have been talking about organizing another group outing. You know, the usual dress up, cam-whore and wander aimlessly thing. We were thinking this Saturday, April 1st. Is that good for everyone? Here's the general plan. Meet at Woodfield around 3PM, shop, late lunch/early dinner at Todai, and a possible movie. There is a Game Works nearby as well, right? We could spend some time there if we end up having more free time than planned. Which reminds me, this whole plan is subject to change if it is more convenient for everyone to tweak it a bit or cancel an activity or two. We could even push everything earlier if necessary. Band practise was cancelled for this weekend. I think I might want to invite another myspace friend to this event. He's really cool plus he has his own car. lol. XDDD!!! Well hopefully it all works out. Let's talk about it you guys. ^__^ |
